We can work on any of your critical business operational problems or help you develop and implement a transition plan to become a Lean Enterprise. We can form and lead problem solving teams or manages one of your change initiatives. We use our experience of business change, lean and systems thinking to work as part of your team.

We have found that there are a small number of common ‘enquiry and discovery’ exercises that provide a good starting point for change.

The most common are:
Business Systems Model Workshop

This workshop helps a team develop a common and shared understanding of the business core processes, the support systems and the management system. It also draws out the business context and highlights both strengths and weaknesses and action to improve business performance.

Project Alignment Workshop

Reviewing the total business project portfolio to help identify and define the few key critical breakthrough initiatives. This is usually the prerequisite to the redefining and re-prioritising the business change agenda.

Core Process Improvement Workshop

Uses process models and “Voice of the Customer” to define the Process KPI’s and visual management for Process Performance Boards. This also includes training on daily meetings to drive improvements to the agreed targets for each of the KPI’s.

Management System Workshop

This workshop applies Systems Thinking and Lean to model the Business Management System. This can help generate a common and shared understanding of the Business Management System and identify the least effort highest value improvements.

 

These workshops use the initial steps of our EDAR Change Methodology (Enquiry, Discovery, Alignment and Reinforcement). This method delivers highest value output whilst minimising the disruption to pressured staff. All of the assignments follow a proven pattern that maximises the value from the participants time and minimises the disruption to the participants’ busy working days. The preparation involves research and a series of interviews. This is typically followed by a workshop which delivers the results and improvement actions. This is followed by a feedback and consolidation meeting. If needed, we can provide support to cover the implementation of the agreed actions. These assignments are closed off with a lessons learnt meeting with the sponsor and team.
